Journal's Publication Characteristics and Review Process

Original manuscripts should be electronically submitted in a document attached to a formally sent e-mail to the Editors. Texts in “ODT”, “SXW”, “DOC” or “RTF” file formats are preferred. Figures can be formatted as “JPEG”, “BMP”, “TIFF”, with high quality to allow electronic (“PDF”) viewing with sufficient details.

Manuscripts are accepted only in English (with two Abstracts: one in English and another in Spanish or Portuguese).

There is no a priori limitation in the manuscripts number of pages, inclusion of high resolution color figures (photos, maps, etc.) or tables in each article, since authors fit them in A4 pages with minimum margins of 2 cm. Please, see all details in the (updated) Instructions for authors' section before submitting a manuscript.

Submitted manuscripts will be first checked by the Editors to determine if they are within the Journal’s scope and have the minimum requirements in terms of organization, language, and content. After acceptance by the Editors, the manuscript will be send to three external referees. They will be asked to send their comments and acceptance/rejection recommendations back in a four weeks time. After receiving the reviews, authors will have 15 days to provide a new, corrected version of their manuscript. Such time periods may vary according to reviewers, editors and authors' available time. Our Journal cannot be responsible for delays in the revision process.

After the Editors' final approval, a PDF proof of the article will be sent to the first author to be checked. The final version will be freely available in the Journal's site, sometimes even before the current Volume/Number is completed.
